Pitbabe S2, Chapter 11 pg10
Thud!
“Oh! Forgot to mention, no one ordered me.”
Thud!
“Agh!”
“Just seeing my boyfriend hurt makes me upset, you know.”
Thud!
I stomped my foot on his face, over and over.
Thud!
“My boyfriend’s head was split open. You can probably imagine how much that hurts, right?”
“Uh… ugh!”
His stammering was getting on my nerves, so I slammed my foot down on his face full force one more time. Just that one hit shut him up completely. His teeth scattered into his mouth, blood pooling like a kid who smeared strawberry jam all over. Hard to believe this method could silence someone so easily. If I’d known, I would’ve done it ages ago.
“Ugh… Babe bought me these,” I grumbled, irritated. My favorite sneakers were stained with this filthy pig’s blood, creeping up to my pant legs. My shirt had several spots too, plus some muddy grime. Only now did I realize I picked a lousy spot for this. Next time I have to beat someone, I should choose a cleaner place. “He’s definitely gonna sulk about this.”
My little game with the guy who chased Babe left me drained. I dragged my feet out of the old warehouse, wiping the blood off my hands onto my already-ruined outer shirt. It was so trashed, I’d have to toss it, so I used it as a rag instead.
“Pretty quick,” a voice said as I opened the warehouse door. “Thought it’d take longer.”
Dr. Chris spoke calmly, dropping his cigarette butt to the ground and crushing the ember with his expensive leather shoe.
“He’s out cold,” I replied, taking my glasses back from him and putting them on. The earlier activity wasn’t glasses-friendly, so I’d left them with him. “Went down fast.”
“You hit hard.”
“Nah, barely used any strength.”
I said just that before walking to my car parked nearby. I didn’t have time to dawdle—I had to get back to patch up Babe and get him to bed on time. But before heading home, I’d need to shower first. Showing up in this state in front of Babe wouldn’t be good.
“Can I stop by your place to shower?” I turned to ask Dr. Chris, who was following me.
“Sure, go for it,” he nodded casually.
“Thanks.”
“You’re welcome.”
He’s genuinely a kind guy. Not only did he help track down the culprit, but he also came with me all the way here. Sure, he’s got some odd quirks, but I think Dr. Chris is a pretty great partner.
“Charlie,” he called out from beside my car. I rolled down the window.
“Yeah?”
“Whatever you do from now on… I’ve got your back.”
Dr. Chris said only that before heading to his own car. I didn’t understand why he suddenly said something like that, but since it was a positive sentiment, I didn’t see the need to overanalyze it. Not everyone gets what I do. Even Babe might see me differently if he knew I was being this naughty behind his back. But with Dr. Chris… I’m confident he understands.
He has to understand how agonizing it is to see someone you love in pain.
“Thanks.”

“From now on, no matter what you do… we’ll help you.”
Dr. Chris says just that before walking to his own car. I don’t understand why he suddenly said something like that, but since it’s a good sentiment, I don’t see the need to overthink it. Not everyone understands what I do. Even Babe might see me differently if he knew that behind his back, I’m being such a bad kid. But if it’s Dr. Chris… I’m confident he gets it.
He has to understand how agonizing it is to see someone you love in pain.
