My Moon, Chapter 29 pg 4
Thud!
“You buffalo! Introducing yourself like that, you’re gonna confuse Klai!” Pai smacked Wit’s head hard while speaking in a stern voice, then turned to flash a smile at the petite figure who had just appeared at the door.
“As for me…” one of the friends standing at the back spoke up, raising his hand high before squeezing his way to the front of the door and smiling at Klaijai. “…I’m Joke, and I’m single.”
Smack!
“You jerk!” Panli didn’t just talk—he swung his hand to smack Joke’s mouth.
“Why the hell did you hit my mouth, Li?! I’m really single!”
“No need to flaunt your single status to my wife. He’s not interested in you.”
Panli spoke irritably, glaring at his close friends standing there awkwardly. They’d brought horns used for cheering at soccer games and even scarves for their favorite team. They were fully prepared. Panli thought he needed to shoo them away as fast as possible… otherwise…
“Is everyone here to watch soccer at Klai’s place?”
“Yeah, yeah!”
“Yup!”
“Klai, do you allow it? We want to watch the game with Li too.”
Tonight was not going to be peaceful anymore…
“KhunKlai…”
Panli started, turning to look at the person beside him. The petite figure, who held the upper hand as the owner of the place, flashed him a smile. He stood with his arms crossed, glancing between Panli and the group of friends led by Fat Boss. At that moment, Klaijai bit his lip slightly while looking at him, then gestured toward the room as if giving permission.
“…I allow it. Let’s cheer for the game to the fullest!”
“Woo!”
“KhunKlai…!”
Panli stammered as he looked at the petite figure standing with arms crossed, sporting a victorious smile. Klaijai stepped back slightly to make room for his friends to enter the room. His almond-shaped eyes blinked rapidly as he watched several friends walk past. When Joke, the last friend, stepped beyond the spot where the two of them had been locking eyes…
The mischievous one stepped forward to stand face-to-face with him. A slender hand reached up to gently stroke his cheek, and with a soft voice, he said…
“Since puppy loves peaches so much… you gotta face my payback like this.”
When Klaijai finished speaking, he walked back into the room. Panli tried to compose himself while closing the large door. He shook his head, thinking…
Who the hell taught you to get cheeky with your own wife, huh?!
Watch it, you damn puppy... keep this in your head:
Don’t mess with Klaijai again...
“This bouquet...”
“Don’t touch it, you damn Wit!”
“What kind of plant is this?”
“Don’t grab Khun Klai’s plant, Om!”
“This cheat sheet...”
“Don’t mess with my troublemaker’s desk, Joke!”
“This popcorn is so damn good...”
“That’s mine, you damn Boss!”
Klai, standing by the microwave, laughs as he watches the big puppy point and scold his friends scurrying around the room. The possessive guy on the sofa rubs his face and lets out a huge sigh.
Ding!
The loud ding signaling that the big puppy’s popcorn is done grabs Klai’s attention. He turns to take the popcorn bag out of the microwave and pours it into a large bowl. Earlier, he’d made a batch for Boss since Boss said he was starving. Worried the puppy might feel left out, Klai made some for him too.
“If you guys don’t sit still, I’ll kick you all out!”
“Alright, alright, we’ll sit still,” they agree.
“Wit, don’t touch the bouquet. Om, come sit already!” Boss calls out to the others while plopping down on the floor in front of the TV. The big puppy is so protective of the sofa that he won’t let his friends sit on it, and they all obediently settle on the floor.
“Joke, come sit next to me...” Ne says, patting the floor loudly.
Klai smiles faintly as he carries the popcorn bowl to Panli. The way Panli’s friends try to organize themselves makes Klai feel fond of them. He flashes a smile at everyone waiting to watch the soccer match, and the big puppy’s adorable friends smile back. Just then, a large pillow flies through the air and smacks Joke hard on the head.
“You damn Joke! You are right in front of me, you bastard!”
“W-What, Li? I just smiled at Klai!”
“That’s exactly what you shouldn’t do!”
Klai shook his head lightly, chuckling, before placing the popcorn bowl on the coffee table. The super possessive big puppy looked up at him with pleading eyes.
“KhunKlai… can you kick them out?”
“…”
“Because just a little more… just a tiny bit more, really.”
“…”
“I’m gonna lose it.”
Klai burst out laughing before saying, “Puppy… calm down, calm down.”
“How can I calm down, KhunKlai? I know they’re deliberately messing with me.”
“…”
The big puppy spoke while wrapping both arms around his waist, giving him a pitiful look. “…And you even let them come over to watch the game… playing right into their hands.”
Klai gave a small smile and moved both hands to cup the other’s face before deciding to tell the truth. “Puppy, honestly, I’m not trying to get back at you.”
“…”
