My Moon, Chapter 35 pg 4
“I have…”
“What did you wish for?”
At that moment, his question prompted the person in his embrace to turn and face him. Klaijai wrapped both arms around him in return, revealing a sweet smile before saying…
“I wished to see you when my hair starts turning white…”
“...”
“To hear you complain about not being as spry as you were in his youth…”
“...”
“To be together until the very last second of our lives.” Klaijai said, moving his hands to cradle Panli’s face, then continued, “Thank you, Panli.”
“...”
“Thank you for shortening the distance for Klai.”
“...”
“From a distance so vast I didn’t know when—or if—I’d ever reach the moon.”
“...”
“But in the end, you made the distance from Earth to the moon just… a few miles.”
Panli gave a faint smile while locking eyes with his lover. “The truth is… it wasn’t just because of me alone.”
“...”
“It’s because I love you… and you love me.”
“...”
“That’s why our hearts keep drawing closer… closer every day… and closer still…” Panli leaned down to press a kiss, conveying the overflowing feelings in his heart, before pulling back and saying, “…until it’s just a few miles.”
Klaijai revealed a gentle smile. “I love you Panli.”
“I love you Klaijai too.”
And at this moment, the two of them locked eyes and embraced once more…
Klaijai thought… it was because of that dark moment in his past that he met the first light of his life, and that light had never faded since.
But the light in his life came from a radiant “moon.” Klai had always gazed at that one moon alone. He secretly hoped that the first light in his life would become… his final light forever.
As if the moon had heard Klaijai’s wish, that same moon drew closer to Klai. The vast distance was shortened… until Klaijai’s heart could be with Panli’s heart.
And Panli thought… meeting Klaijai that day wasn’t just a coincidence. Something in this world had intentionally brought him to Klaijai… so Panli could find the other half of his life.
Ever since Panli entered Klaijai’s life, he never worried about how long this journey of love might be. Because along the way…
We have each other.
We’ll hold hands and walk together until we reach the end.
…And…
Panli and Klaijai
…both thought the same thing…
We are all imperfect people,
Waiting for someone to make us whole.
And we are all “crescent moons,”
…Waiting for someone to complete us until we become…
A “full moon.”
Happy Ending
