My Moon, Chapter 9 pg 6
“Yes, it’s Klaijai.”
[I’ll add you on LINE later, okay?]
“Okay”
[...]
“...”
It feels like our conversation is coming to an end, as silence begins to take over. Yet, neither of us hangs up. Not long after, Klai hears a soft chuckle from the other side.
[Don’t want to hang up, Klaijai?]
“N-No, it’s not that… I just thought Panli might have more to say.”
[Oh…]
“Uh-huh.”
[I don’t have anything else to say… How about you, Klaijai?]
“I don’t either.”
[So, who’s going to hang up first?]
“I will, I’ll hang up first then.”
[Okay.]
Klai is about to press the end call button, but he pauses when he hears the other person start to say something.
“...”
[KhunKlai…]
“Yes?”
[Did you… study hard today?]
The one being asked lets out a wide smile, knowing no one can see him grinning right now.
“Didn’t you say you had nothing else to say?”
[I just thought of something.]
“I study hard every day, you know.”
[Very good.]
“Panli…”
[Does you have something to say to me?]
“Mm… thanks for driving me.”
[My pleasure.]
“I don’t have anything else to say now, so I’ll hang up.”
[Okay.]
The small figure who just hung up with Moon sat smiling alone in the car, head resting on the steering wheel, letting a certain feeling pump into their heart until it swelled bigger and bigger.
LINE, ~
He lifted the phone to check while his head still rested on the steering wheel.
P. Panli, added you by LINE ID
Klai smiled even wider when he saw Moon stepping into his world. His slender hand raised the phone to his chest, silently praying that…
The moon would orbit around Klaijai for a long, long time.
😊
[Okay, okay, send the work to me, Klai. I’ve refilled the printer’s ink and it’s ready.]
“Alright, I’ll send it right after hanging up.”
[Got it.]
Klai hung up with Pie and quickly sent the updated work file to his friend via email. Before, Klai never felt anything special seeing his own email name, but now he had to suppress a grin when he saw the English letters spelling out his name.
‘Such a cute name.’
The reason he had to hold back his smile so hard wasn’t because of the name, Klaijai.
It was because of the person who complimented his name.
After sending the work to Pie via email, the small figure let out a sigh of relief, having finished the task on time as planned. Klai leaned back in the large cushioned chair to ease his fatigue, then grabbed his black phone to open the LINE app.
8:30 PM.
The chat room with Moon was still empty. After Panli added him on the LINE, he hadn’t sent any messages, and Klai, secretly waiting, didn’t dare to message first, unsure if the other wanted to talk.
Klai sighed again. But this time, it wasn’t out of relief. His mind kept searching for ways to start a good conversation like before. He thought chatting with Panli face-to-face was hard, but starting a conversation through text was several times harder.
Thud!
The black phone lay flat on its back in the same spot, before its owner shifted their attention from waiting for someone by choosing to listen to music instead. However, while selecting songs on the laptop, a flood of thoughts surged in.
