The Next Prince, Special Chapter 4 pg5

The Next Prince, Special Chapter 4 pg5

“Thinking of the time when we were apart. At that time, I was very upset.”

   “...”

“But now there is no need to be upset anymore.” He patted himself on the chest. Khanin smiled charmingly, brushed his thoughts away, and then turned his face back down to find the warmth of the person he loved.

Charan was silent, thinking about something in his heart, before deciding to gather up the courage to speak about the things he had been keeping inside.

I... have something I want to show you.”

“Hmm... what is it, oh?” Because he was suddenly lifted up and sat on a bench. Khanin was confused.

Charan bit his lip, lost in thought, before deciding that he didn’t want to hesitate anymore.

“It’s not surprising, take a look for yourself.” The tall figure lifted the younger person up without allowing Khanin to stand up, wrapped his slender arms around him, hugged him close, and then quickly walked up to the second floor bookshelf at the end of the hallway.

   “Library...”

   “Are you ready?”

Khanin didn’t know what he was supposed to be ready for, but in the end, he agreed with a nod. Just then, Charan led him into the library.

“Close your eyes first.” A hoarse voice instructed the younger person to do as he was told.

Khanin closed his eyes easily, but suddenly heard the sound of footsteps and the sound of something moving, before being placed gently on the floor by Charan.

“Open your eyes, okay.” The merchant said. Khanin gradually raised his eyes and found that he was in a rectangular room he had never seen before. He was still staring around when he discovered many paintings arranged on display, not unlike a small gallery.

“So beautiful...” Khanin whispered in wonder as he examined the displayed artwork. He turned to Charan, the person standing beside him, who smiled in response before giving him an explanation of each piece.

The reason he had never seen this room before was because Charan had built this secret room behind a large closet in the library.

This picture is the first one, drawn  I met you Nin.” The picture’s owner drew a detailed painting of his loved one’s slim waist and led him through the various points. Charan allowed Khanin to examine each piece of the painting carefully, explaining their individual differences. Even though he wasn’t good at expressing his feelings about relationships and love, Charan still managed to get his point across, and Khanin understood it.

   “This painting...”

“From this point on, it’s a picture of when I started to feel strange about

   Nin.”

Khanin didn’t know how the coloring or various art techniques were different in each painting, but what he felt was the emotional differences in each piece.

“Is it strange? Haha...” Because he wasn’t good at expressing himself when it came to matters of love and relationships, Charan chose his words poorly, but even so, Khanin was able to understand the meaning he wanted to convey.

Because feelings change, the image conveys different emotions...

“All of these are pictures that I drew for you when I felt... loved.”

The date and time of each drawing was clearly labeled. Khanin scanned through them one by one before settling on the one from the period when they were apart.

Charan didn’t speak, but the feeling from the picture clearly expressed sadness, a tone that was less bright and cheerful than usual, which made Khanin realize that it wasn’t just him who was feeling down during that time.

   “...”

Khanin sent a sweet smile towards the older person, his body leaned towards the final white framed cloth, and he tilted his head curiously to summon a smile from the viewer.

   “This picture...”

   Open it.”

Khanin didn’t hesitate to follow through. The young man pulled the white cloth that was used to cover it out and found only an empty frame without any colorful embellishments.

   “...”

“For the last picture, I want you to be the one who comes up with the idea.”

   “...”

“I want this picture to be drawn by us together.” It wasn’t necessary to ask. Charan described what he was thinking of during the empty frame before them and they made eye contact before the eyes of the beautiful pair slipped along with the person they loved, and Khanin understood what Charan was trying to say.

Khanin shed a tear with understanding that they had each other now, and there was no need for him to think of anything alone from now on.

“I have nothing to give you, Phii.” The voice trailed off slightly with a small sigh.

“Just being with you like this every day is enough for me.” Thick hand pats the soft, fluffy group of hair gently and lovingly.

Khanin leaned forward to hug the bigger person before tilting his head to kiss the tip of his nose lightly.

“Where can I go? Phii Ran, you are the one who shouldn’t leave me behind.” The lovely pose and sweet words make Charan jump into a love filled abyss, hugging the thick, firm hand and glancing at the thin person’s face with sincere eyes.

“Nin... Remember the promise we made about our future plans together?”

“I want you, Phii Ran, to do what you love. I know that you enjoy drawing and that makes you happy. I want you to do that for a long time. As for me... I want to open up and start teaching children sword fighting at a school together, which would be great if we could teach what we love together.”

   “Sure, let’s do it.”

“Let’s make this a reality from now on.”

Khanin never imagined himself drawing his own picture when he was in love, nor did he dream of the future of their wedding. There were no sweet intimate words between him and Charan, yet everything that they had together was bigger than that.

Everything was captured in the plans they made together for their futures, the care and love they have for each other, every action had immeasurable value that couldn’t be described with words.

   “Yes, we’re together every day.”

Khanin did not say forever because he knew deep down that it didn't exist, but his life was different because he belonged to Charan alone...

“Dear Nin, thank you for being in this world. You are my happiness.”

More than the key to unlock, Khanin remembered questioning and worrying about his own existence, but now he knows... he knows how much he is worth and how important he is to his husband Charan.

“I love you, Phii Ran a lot, thank you for having you in this world. You are my happiness too.” Khanin expressed love and gratitude for Charan, just the same.

The young man hugged his husband tightly, passing warm breaths and synchronized heartbeats.

Their story was unbelievable. From living in different worlds... but today, they are side by side. Sometimes, the English sentences on their wristbands could define their relationship more clearly than anything else.  “Destiny is far away but meet anyway.”

   Destiny brought them together...

Yes, now that they have found each other, Khanin promises to protect, care, love, and be loyal to this person, to make sure that their journey crossing rivers, seas, and skies is worth it...

   End of special chapter.
