My Moon, Chapter 20 pg 4
My Moon, Chapter 20 pg 4
“Anything that belongs to you… it’s all great,” Panli said with a smile, before his gaze shifted to something else.
When Klai followed his line of sight, he saw that Panli was looking at two cactus plants sitting side by side on the desk. The taller man sat down on the chair and reached for the cactus he’d once given as a gift, examining it closely.
“It’s grown a lot, huh?”
“Yeah… it’s grown a ton because I’ve taken good care of it.”
Panli turned to meet his eyes and said, “Thanks again for taking such good care of it.”
Klai nodded slightly with a shy smile. “You hang out for a bit, okay? I’m gonna go change my shirt.”
After finishing his sentence, Klai turned to head toward the bedroom door. But just as he was about to step away, a strong arm wrapped around his waist, pulling him with enough force to make him lose balance and fall onto a sturdy lap. Before Klai could turn to see the owner of the lap behind him, another arm encircled his waist. It all happened so quickly that he couldn’t react in time. Now, his hands felt clumsy, unsure where to rest, so he crossed his arms. At that moment, Klai ignored his little heart pounding so hard it might burst out of his chest, because he needed to collect himself first.
Take care of yourself, heart.
Let Klai compose himself first.
It’s every man for himself right now…
Klai swallowed hard, the sound audible, as Panli rested his chin on his shoulder. He sat stiff as a statue in a museum. Even though the two of them had grown more open with their feelings since confessing their love, it had only been through phone calls and text messages. They had never been alone together like this.
Now that they finally had time alone, it wasn’t surprising that the other wanted to express feelings through physical gestures. Klai didn’t feel uncomfortable or startled by Panli’s actions. He understood that building a relationship wasn’t just about talking—sometimes, they needed to show their feelings in other ways…
To let the other person feel…
Some emotions that words alone couldn’t convey.
“I missed you so much…” Panli whispered softly, his sharp nose nuzzling into Klai’s shoulder. “…Puppy really, really missed KhunKlai.”
The warmth from the embrace.
An embrace that clearly told the other person…
“Klai missed Puppy too.”
Not just through texts or words.
The slender hands, which earlier didn’t know where to rest, now gently stroked the thick arm. Moon tightened the embrace, and Klai turned to look at the person who refused to move his nose from his shoulder.
“My shirt’s so gross…”
Moon chuckled softly, lifting his nose and resting his chin on Klai’s shoulder instead. “Your shirt smells really, really good.”
“My shirt’s actually super gross… it’s not nice at all.”
“Then that means the nice smell isn’t from the shirt…” Dom smiled, tilting his face slightly to meet Klai’s eyes before continuing, “…but from the person wearing it, right?”
Klai pressed his lips together to hold back a smile, then looked away, too shy to hold the gaze. His new focus was the long sofa in the middle of the room. The smaller guy let out a big sigh before saying,
“Phew~… Can I take a quick break from being shy, Puppy?”
The Puppy, delighted by the request, laughed and said, “No need to change your shirt… you look cute in this gross shirt.”
While he thought this shirt was too old to wear in front of others, Moon thought it looked good. That didn’t make him feel any less shy—in fact, Moon made the feeling multiply tenfold.
“The puppy is so mean… not letting me catch a break at all.”
The puppy laughed softly before saying, “Then let’s talk about the cactus instead.”
“…”
“How do you take care of it to make it grow so fast, ka?”
Panli probably realized he was being too harsh and switched topics. “I let it get morning sunlight every day… water it once a week.”
“…”
“Give it some fertilizer sometimes… but not too often.”
“…”
“Cacti might seem easy to care for… and a lot of people think they’re tough and hard to kill.”
“…”
“But the truth is… no matter what plant it is, you have to give it attention.”
“…”
“If we care for it enough… it’ll try its best to grow and make us happy.”
“That’s why my cactus never grew much… I didn’t care for it enough. Phii Fah couldn’t stand to see it like that, so he took it to care for instead.”
Klai laughed before saying, “If you get another one, you’ll have to take really good care of it, okay?”
“I probably won’t get another one, ka. Taking care of plants is way too hard.”
“…”
“Caring of you is so much easier.”
Sigh… he couldn’t stay sweet for even ten minutes. Panli went right back to being the mean guy who made him blush until his face burned. “Puppy, seriously.”
Panli laughed before saying, “Klaijai…”
“Yes?” he replied, turning to look at the person pressing their nose against his shoulder again.
“Don’t wear this ratty shirt with those shorts outside, okay, ka?”
Klai held back a smile before asking, already guessing the answer, “Why not, puppy?”
The puppy rested his forehead on Klai’s shoulder instead, then said in a soft voice, “…Because the puppy’s jealous, ka.”
“So possessive of me, huh, Puppy?”
“The most in the world.”
Klai broke into a wide smile before nodding in agreement, because Puppy’s answer was worth trusting. “Okay… I absolutely won’t wear it outside.”
Puppy turned to look at him, grinning widely, clearly satisfied with the response. “…”
“But even if I wore it outside, no one would care… it’s such a worn-out shirt.”
“If you wore this ratty shirt out and really no one noticed… I would let you like me a little less.”
“Whoa… Puppy, you’re that confident, huh?”
