My Moon, Chapter 9 pg 4
My Moon, Chapter 9 pg 4
“Klai…”
“Over here!”
Klai nodded to his friends waving him over. He hurried to the front of the classroom and plopped down next to Pie. His two close friends took the report to review without saying a word. Klai guessed Mai and Pie were too busy chatting to notice someone had walked him here. Otherwise, they’d definitely be teasing him by now.
Good thing they didn’t know…
Let him bask in his shyness for a bit.
“How much was the report, Klai?”
There it is… Klai wasn’t getting a break. “I don’t know how much it was.”
“Huh?” Pie furrowed her brow in confusion.
“Because Panli paid for it.”
“What the—?”
Here we go… starting with Mai first.
“It’s nothing. I just ran into Panli at the cafeteria, and we ate together…” Klai paused to suppress a smile as his two friends narrowed their eyes and pointed at him, as if catching him in the act. “And when Pie called me, Panli overheard that I was going to print the report. He had something to print too, so he tagged along.”
“It’s like… everything just fell into place, huh, Pie?” Mai said.
“Right… you sure you didn’t plan this?” Pie teased.
Klai widened his eyes and swatted his friend’s arm. “How could I plan it? I’m not that close with Panli.”
“Sure…”
“Sorry for being late, everyone,” the professor’s voice interrupted.
“The professor’s here!”
The conversation between Klai and his two close friends ended as the professor arrived. He turned to see the course professor sit at the computer desk, organizing a stack of papers with a weary expression. She’d probably been teaching all day without a break. Klai was about to tell his friends he felt bad for her, but the looks in their eyes made him want to bolt from his chair.
Just let them tease…
Even if it’s just teasing with their eyes, fine, you bunch of pranksters.
“Let’s dive into the lesson. I’m already quite late…” the professor said.
Klai shifted his gaze from his friends to the projector screen as the professor began lecturing on the latest topic. Pie, who was in charge of printing the lesson notes for each chapter, quietly passed a sheet to him and Mai. Klai nodded in thanks, but when he saw Pie still teasing him with his eyes, he couldn’t resist swatting his arm again.
“Stop teasing me already~”
“Klai’s probably over the moon all day today,” Pie said.
The teased one let out a laugh and shook his head lightly, turning back to focus on the content displayed on the large screen. He’d ignore them both and study seriously.
Because Moon had said…
Do your best in class, kha, KhunKlai.
He was already studying hard,
but now Klai is studying even harder—a ton harder.
:)
After listening to the professor’s lecture, Klai, as the group representative, submitted their report. This time, their group didn’t need many revisions; the professor only suggested adding a bit more content. Klai volunteered to take the report home to work on it himself since he had listened to the professor’s advice on what to include. Then, he parted ways with his two friends to head back to his condo.
The small-framed guy got into his car with the report in hand. He was about to place it on the passenger seat when he noticed Moon’s neatly folded student uniform shirt already there. So, Klai placed the report on the car’s console instead. He picked up Panli’s shirt, which carried a faint, pleasant scent, and placed it on his lap, deciding to return it to its owner today.
He had to admit…
He wanted to see Moon.
The clock showed exactly 5:30 p.m. Klai drove out of the parking lot in front of his faculty building, heading to the lot where Panli often stood smoking.
But when Klai pulled into the wide parking lot, he didn’t see Moon’s beloved pearl-white car anywhere, even though this was the time they usually showed up. Klai figured Moon must have left early today. Just to be sure, though, he pulled out his phone and called someone.
‘Phii Dom’
Klai only had to wait a moment before his senior picked up, greeting him warmly.
[What’s up, Klaijai?]
“Phii Dom, I was wondering if Panli is still at the university. Could you contact them for me?”
[Panli, huh?]
“Yes. A few days ago, I spilled coffee on my shirt, and I ran into Panli by chance. He lent me a shirt to change into before my presentation.”
[…]
“I brought the cleaned shirt with me in the car… and today, I want to return it to Panli.”
